Surgical services for children
Our surgeons are skilled in traditional and minimally invasive procedures, including laparoscopic surgery, across a wide range of pediatric specialties.
Our pediatric surgery unit
Our surgical services and outpatient unit are designed with kids in mind. The staff is trained to make your family’s experience as stress-free as possible.
Many of our surgeries are same-day procedures, and all pain management tools and medical equipment are designed to meet your child's unique needs. In addition, we provide a child-friendly atmosphere with bright surroundings, play rooms and dedicated pediatric operating rooms. All of our same-day surgery and inpatient postoperative recovery rooms are private to ensure restful recovery. If necessary, our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides the highest level of care to newborns, and our pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) is staffed 24 hours a day.
If your child needs general anesthesia, we offer induction rooms where you can be present while your child is put to sleep, reducing anxiety for your family.
Child life specialists
Our child life specialists are available to help your family prepare for and cope with the surgical process. Child life specialists provide:
- Age-appropriate activities to ease your child's anxiety while waiting for surgery
- Comfort and support in the recovery room as your child awakes from anesthesia
- Pre-surgery tours
